FBI raids John Bolton’s home and office, Classified Document Investigation: Report

FBI agents raided former national security adviser John Bolton’s Bethesda on Friday morning Donald Trump. The agent also raided the Bolton DC office.

According to reports New York Post. The post quoted a Trump administration official who said FBI Director Kash Patel ordered a raid.

The channel also reported that the yet-implemented search order cited controversy about his memoirs to establish behavioral patterns. But a senior U.S. official told The Post that the investigation was a “clean break” in the investigation about Bolton’s book.

Shortly after the raid began, Patel wrote on X: “No one is beyond the law… [FBI] Agents perform tasks. ”

Dan Bongino, deputy director of the FBI, shared the post, writing: “Public corruption will not be tolerated.”

Bolton, who served in Trump’s first administration, has not been arrested or detained. Trump revoked his security permit and Secret Service details in January 2025.

Trump was asked about the raid Friday and said he didn’t know in advance, claiming he saw it on TV. The president then expressed his clear disdain for his former national security adviser.

“I’m not a fan of John Bolton. He’s a real low year,” Trump told reporters. He went on to call Bolton “not a smart guy” and then said, “He might be very loving.”

After the FBI raid, Trump-Bolton’s hatred reopened: “There has never been a clue… What a soup!”

The president also said that Bolton was a very quiet person, except on TV, if he could say something bad for Trump. ”

Vice President JD Vance “We are in the early stages of an ongoing investigation into John Bolton,” told Friday. Vance denied that Bolton’s goal was to criticize Trump.

A source familiar with the Bolton raid, and the evidence used to justify it, told Fox News numbers, “Bolton did have some timid attacks on Trump’s attack on him handling confidential information,” but would not provide more details.

Bolton criticizes Trump’s handling of confidential documents The FBI raided Mar-a-Lago in 2022. Trump was later charged with 37 felony charges, which expanded to 40 before the case was dismissed in July 2024.

During Trump’s first administration, an investigation into confidential documents was initiated, but was later shut down by the Biden administration. The Justice Department argued that Bolton’s 2020 memoir, The Room That Happened, contained confidential material and tried to prevent its publication.

The FBI and Bolton office declined to comment on the matter.
