Erik and Lyle Menendez, who have been sentenced to more than 30 years in prison for their parents’ 1989 murder, are defending parole this week.
The brothers will appear before California’s state parole board.
In 1996, the couple was sentenced to life imprisonment without parole by the shootings of Kitty and Jose Menendez.
In May, the judge reduced his sentence to 50 years, making them eligible for parole. Erik will hold a hearing on Thursday and Friday.
Videos of the couple at the first trial in 1993 led to a false hearing by the jury, suggesting that the brothers became excited while discussing their parents’ murders and years of so-called abuse.
