California is the center stage in the national battle for Congress to re-dividend Congress before next year’s midterm elections on Thursday.

This is where they expect to announce their game plan to cope with the president’s push Donald Trump Republicans have created up to five Republican-friendly congressional districts at the expense of seats currently controlled by the Democrats.
“If you don’t stand down, I will be forced to work hard to repaint the map of California to offset the rigging of the map of the red state,” Newsom said in a recent letter to the president.

He argued that Trump was “playing fire” in a rare (but not unheard of) re-division.
Newsom said Trump missed a deadline and he did his best to re-dividend in Texas.

Newsom asks Trump to give up the push for Texas re-division
Trump and his political team aimed to prevent what happened during his first term in the White House, when Democrats rushed to mid-2018 to seize a majority in the House.
But while Republicans don’t face constitutional restrictions on the overturning of current Congressional maps in Texas, Newsom’s path In California It’s much more complicated.
In Texas, Republicans plan to create new maps once state Democratic legislators fleeing the state to prevent legislatures from passing measures to return to Texas.

The governor will hold a special election this year to get voter approval to eliminate the constitutional amendment that constitutes the non-partisan redivision committee. Holding a referendum will require a two-thirds majority vote for the Democratic-led California Legislature.
Democratic leaders are confident that they will push votes for constitutional amendments and newly proposed Congressional maps through the legislature.
Newsom’s press conference on Thursday, considered a contender for the 2028 Democratic presidential nomination, will also serve as a fundraiser to raise a lot of campaign cash to sell the driver of redistribution rezoning statewide in California.
Schwarzenegger’s new role: Re-dividing drives against Newsom
According to public opinion polls, the nonpartisan redistricting committee was formed 15 years ago and remains popular among most Californians.
That’s why Newsom and California Democratic lawmakers promised not to completely abolish the committee, but instead to temporarily replace the next three election cycles by the legislature.
But their efforts are against many digital coalitions that support non-partisan committees.
One of the most obvious members is former Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, the last Republican governor to California dominated by Democrats.

During his tenure as governor, Schwarzenegger played the lead role in California’s constitutional amendments in 2008 and 2010, a role that granted the power to attract state legislation and congressional districts from politicians and put it in the hands of an independent committee.

“Most people don’t really think about an independent committee. It’s both an opportunity and a challenge,” Jack Pitney, a U.S. political professor at Claremont McKenna College in California, told Fox News.
But he added: “It will take a lot of effort and money to inspire Democrats and motivate them to participate in polls, and the “news magazine effort” is to inspire people who don’t like Trump.”
