- Fans speculate on mysterious social media posts and countdowns on Swift’s website
- Her previous album The Poets of Torture all featured most of the Stream Records of Spotify’s Day
Taylor Swift announced her 12th studio album, The Life of A Chirl, after 24 hours of fan speculation.
The rumor began Monday morning when the singer’s marketing team released a 12-photo carousel with the title: “Thinking about when she says ‘The Next Era’.”
In the following hours, Swift’s official website began counting down to 00:12 ET (BST 05:12), when her boyfriend NFL star Travis Kelce Confirm that she will be a new height guest on his podcast this week.
Swift herself revealed the title of the album in a social media clip, the podcast of Taild tabled Kelce, and is available for pre-order on her website at the same time.

Fans who booked the album received a message saying it would ship by October 13, but “this is not the release date.”
The official release date for the new music has not been confirmed yet.
The pop star’s 11th album, The Poet of Torture, was released last year, breaking the Spotify record because it was the most popular album of the day.
Change in class?
Announcing her new album on her current boyfriend’s podcast is an interesting move for Swift, as much of her songwriting and back catalog is about her previous relationships.
Her previous album reportedly details her breakup from 1975 singer Matty Healy. Fans have long thought of other former Bosses, including Harry Styles, Jake Gyllenhaal and John Mayer, who used to be the theme of songs.
The Guardian’s deputy music editor Laura Snapes told the BBC’s fourth-time Today program on Tuesday that the theme of the relationship could reappear on the agenda.
“There is allegedly a leaked photo inside the vinyl and you can see some blurry focus lyrics,” Snapes noted. “And there seems to be something about love.”
“There might be something going on with her former record label…It seems she isn’t singing about it.”
She emphasized that the star “does not conduct interviews.” So everything her fans hear from her “direct”, whether it’s through social media or on stage in songs on the show, like on her all-time tour of the recent era.
So a new album is like “her life updates – what she’s been thinking, what she’s been thinking about,” adding that Swift provides updates in this way, which is “very fun”.
“It seems loose – we don’t really see her in public.”
“And I wonder if that would indicate a shift in her media approach or just a boyfriend’s podcast?”
Snapes said she will be “interested” when the 00:00 BST drops on Thursday.

After years of record-time tours, Swift seems to have started a relatively quiet start in 2025.
In May this year, she announced that she had Repurchased the rights to her first six albumsending a long and highly publicized battle about her music ownership.
After her original masters were sold, she vowed to re-record all six albums, known as “Taylor’s Version.” So far, she has reposted four of the original six.
Swift announced that she announced the purchase of the Original Master to fans in a heartfelt letter, and she wrote that the last two albums will “have time to reappear at the right time.”

The singer ended her journey to the times in December 2024 after performing 149 performances in 53 cities.
In the UK alone, she played nearly 1.2 million people, including eight nights at Wembley Stadium. The trip is estimated to bring £1 billion to the country’s economy and is a catalyst for Swift’s formal claim to be a billionaire.
The star also has her name reward. She was named a decade-old artist by the American Music Awards, is the most awarded artist at the MTV Video Music Awards of all time, and has won 14 Grammy Awards, including four unprecedented albums of the year.
Why is she so big?
Her pandemic-era albums Folklore and Evermore were a major turning point, According to BBC Culture Correspondent Marking the Barbarianwith a subtle independent Falke arrangement, won the victory of critics and fans who had previously had no impression of her country and pop songs.
Tiktok’s rise introduces her to a new audience, and the ongoing project to re-record her first six albums puts her older.
“She is just one of those rare eternal artists,” said pop star Ray last year. “She is an absolute power.”
Scottish singer-songwriter KT Tunstall added: “She is a great role model.”
“She has resilience, and Chutzpah becomes the boss of a huge machine, hiring thousands of people. To be able to handle and handle her affairs publicly, you only need to be one-time.”
Lana del Rey has another theory about the star’s dominance in a 2022 song on the beach.
The singer told BBC News last year: “She wants it.”
“She told me many times that she wanted more than anyone else. And what an amazing thing-she got what she wanted.
“She was driven, and I think it really paid off.”
