At least 35 trains carrying hazardous materials derailed in Texas | Texas

Emergency Services Respond to a Derailed Train in Palopingto County TexasOn Tuesday afternoon, officials noted that nearly thirty cars were carrying hazardous materials.

“The train has derailed on the Coalville Road Bridge. Multiple cars along the track. No car leaks. No injuries reported.” Palopineto County Emergency Services 1 explain In social media posts.

They noted that crew members and fire officers were cautiously mitigating damage and hazards at the scene. They also said the incident was considered a “hazardous goods situation.” No evacuation.

Officials said the derailment occurred around 1.45pm local time, along a railway bridge along the Coal Bridge north of State Road 183, about two miles east of Gordon.

United Pacific said in a statement to local news stations that 35 cars derailed. Officials told CBS “35 trains carrying hazardous materials were involved, but none of them showed any leakage at the scene.”

Videos at the scene showed grass fires and smoke piled up on the tracks, and firefighters responded with hoses.

United Pacific said the incident is under investigation.
