this Trump administration $1 billion is being sought from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) to address discrimination and anti-Semitism allegations in exchange for resuming more than a billion dollars in frozen grant funds for the university.
The proposed agreement sent to schools Friday requires the UCLA to pay $1 billion in multiple installments to the federal government and establish a $172 million claim fund for allegedly violating Chapter VII of the Civil Rights Act, which prohibits employment discrimination based on race, color, religion, gender, gender or nationality.
The Trump administration has suspended $584 million in federal grants from UCLA after the Justice Department announced that the school violated the 14th Amendment to the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the equal protection provisions of Chapter 6.

In a statement provided to Fox News Digital President James Milliken said the university system has received the document and is reviewing it.
“Earlier this week, we proposed a good faith dialogue with the (judicial) department to protect the university and its key research missions,” Milliken said. “As a public university, we are the stewards of taxpayer resources, and payments of this scale will completely destroy the largest public university system in our country and cause great harm to our students and all Californians.”
“The Americans in this great country rely on crucial work UCLA and UC systems that save lives, develop the U.S. economy and protect our nation’s security. ”
The move comes the second day between criticisms by California Gov. Gavin Newsom Colombia and Brown University, both the Ivy League school and the Trump administration.

Colombia will pay more than $220 million to resolve multiple federal civil rights investigations, including $21 million, to resolve anti-Semitic employment discrimination claims against Jewish teachers following the Hamas attack on Israeli attacks on October 7, 2023.
Brown will earn $50 million from the state Workforce Development Organization in a decade, as part of a deal with the U.S. government.
In July, UCLA agreed Pay $6 million Resolve lawsuits filed by Jewish students and faculty in handling anti-Israel protests in schools, including allowing protesters to ban Jews from a portion of a campus called the “Jewish Exclusion Zone.”

The lawsuit was filed last year by the Beckett Religious Freedom Foundation, which accused UCLA of “assisting and teaching ting” An anti-Semitic cultureincluding “isolating Jewish students and preventing them from entering the heart of campus.”
