Two agitators are now facing criminal charges, which the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA) condemns.
This week, members of a meme team reportedly claimed responsibility for certain events, in which brightly colored dildos were thrown onto the court or bench area during the game.
Players and coaches worry about the implications and hostility behind the incident.

“The safety and well-being of everyone in our arena is a top priority in our league. Throwing items of any form onto the court or seating area can pose a safety risk to players, game officials and fans,” the WNBA replied in a statement.
The second arrest was when 18-year-old Kaden Lopez was also charged with throwing a sex toy in a game in Phoenix on August 5 and hitting a man watching the game.
As the incident has been evacuated, members of the community from a Meme Coin named Green Dildo Coin are responsible for certain interruptions.
A spokesman for the group told USA Today that members began throwing green sex toys to disguise themselves as a record launch, the toy was created the day before the first incident. The team wanted to use “viral stunts” to get people’s attention.
“We do this because we don’t like women’s sports, or like some of the narratives that are popular now are ridiculous,” a spokesperson said anonymously in an article on Thursday.
While many events include green toys, some are other colors, suggesting that not all events are meme-related.
A Meme-Coin spokesman told USA Today that the arrests of the two had nothing to do with the organization.
