Colorado Springs, Colorado – although Democrats protest President Donald Trump demolished the Department of Education’s plan, and Education Secretary Linda McMahon said returning education to the United States was a “non-partisan issue.”
“I won’t back down because it would be one thing if it’s just Democratic or Republican states perform well or do not do well, but it’s many states on both sides of the aisle. That’s why it’s really a nonpartisan issue.”
The Secretary of Education held discussions with governors from both sides of Colorado, Colorado, and her department announced that approximately $6.8 billion in K-12 freeze federal funding will be released ahead of a panel discussion with outgoing NGA chairman Jared Polis, D-Colo’s Gov. Jared Polis.
“If we are going to return education to the states, we have to talk to the governor, which is very important,” McMahon stressed. “It makes sense to them? How do we work together? It’s two sides of the aisle, because obviously, education is a matter of no convenience.”

“Every state has different needs,” McMahon said. “There is no size for everyone, but what I hear from every governor and almost every educator is what we emphasize, and that’s literacy.”

Despite the bleak reports, McMahon said “the future of education is very bright” as the Trump administration calls for attention to “the national transcript,” which reveals “how the United States is adversely comparing all of this with the rest of the world.”
“The president is very keen to ensure these levels rise so that the United States should be a place for one of the world’s education leaders,” McMahon explained.

When asked How is the Minister of Education McMahon will speak to teachers who demolished the Department of Education demolition, she said she focused on ensuring best practices nationwide while empowering states to serve the individual needs of teachers.

“[Teachers] “They are working with the school board, working with their principals and principals and governors to develop the best policy,” McMahon said. “It’s a win for teachers because the governor is already talking about the payments that should be fair and that they should be allowed to innovate in the classroom so that they should not spend time doing paperwork and regulations. They should be able to spend this time with students.”
McMahon explained: “Let the teacher teach the teacher. It’s all good,” McMahon explained.
