A House Democrat is working to stop the Trump administration from using military-grade drones to monitor U.S. protests
Rep. Jimmy Gomez (D-Calif) is reportedly. Los Angeles Earlier this year.
“The U.S. government should never use military drones to monitor its own people. Not under Trump. Not under anyone’s leadership,” Gomez told Fox News figures in a statement.
“This bill will prevent Trump from abuse of power and bring these combat drones out of areas near us.”

The protests, some of which turned into violent riots, shocked Los Angeles for several days last month.
They were initially a demonstration against immigration and customs enforcement (ICE), a protest in Southern California cities that were primarily Hispanic or Latino communities in a crackdown on illegal immigrants.

We are not only Californians, but Americans, because if it can happen in Los Angeles today, it can happen in Los Angeles, it can happen anywhere in the country,” Gomez wrote on X at the time.

His area includes most of Los Angeles, completely located in Los Angeles County.
The Republican-controlled House is unlikely to accept his new bill, which has been forwarded to the House Judiciary Committee.
