  1. Bhaiya Mere Rakhi Ke Bandhan Ko Nibhana

One of the most popular and evergreen Rakhi songs that have been hummed or played during the festive time is ‘Bhaiya Mere Rakhi Ke Bandhan Ko Nibhana’ which featured in 1959 film ‘Chhoti Bahen’ which starred Nanda in the lead role along with Balraj Sahni and Rehman. The song has been sung by the Lata Mangeshkar and the lyrics were penned by Shailendra. The iconic song was composed by Shankar-Jaikishan.

 

      2. Phoolon Ka Taron Ka

‘Phoolon Ka Taron Ka’ surely has to be the most popular and widely known Rakhi song. Featuring in the film ‘Hare Rama Hare Krishna’, the song best describes the sibling love the best with Dev Anand and Zeenat Aman in the lead. Kishore Kumar and Lata Mangeshkar collaborated to give us another melodious song. It is composed by R. D. Burman and the lyrics were penned by Anand Bakshi.

      3. Meri Pyari Behaniya

Maverick director Manmohan Desai whose 1970 super-hit film ‘Sachaa Jutha’, which starred Rajesh Khanna, Mumtaz, and Vinod Khanna, featured the song ‘Meri Pyari Behaniya’ sung by Kishore Kumar. The melodious song focusses on the cute bond between a brother-sister and is still played at Raksha Bandhan.

      4. Behna Ne Bhai Ki Kalai Se

‘Behna Ne Bhai Ki Kalai Se’ is a soulful track from the 1974 film ‘Resham Ki Dori’ sung by Suman Kalyanpur. The film starred Dharmendra and Saira Banu in lead roles and the lyricist Indiwar was also nominated for the Filmfare Award for Best Lyricist for this song.

     5. Mere Bhaiyya Mere Chanda

Ram Maheshwari directed super-hit film ‘Kaajal’ which featured a string of superstars like Meena Kumari, Dharmendra, Raaj Kumar, and also starred Padmini, Helen, Durga Khote, and Tun Tun, featured the melodious Rakhi song ‘Mere Bhaiyya Mere Chanda’ which has been sung by Asha Bhosle. The legendary song is still considered as one of the best songs that define the brother-sister bond.
